Begin To Weave.........
Guess what I've been doing on the loom? It's been ages since I was able to actually warp and dress my rigid heddle loom and I'm so happy to be weaving again. Lots of things in life have [kind of] taken me away from my beloved hand crafts and home crafts and even music.
...but we persevere, don't we?!!!
All acrylic and its intent is going to be -- not sure what it is going to be. It could be for a table runner or maybe even some external cloth for some other sewing work. I just simply need to weave it first and get that part going. In time, I'm sure, it will tell me what it wants to be, or even what it WILL be.
For the weft, I started looking toward either a solid green or a solid brown. This variegated blue reminds me so of the ocean and so, I began thinking something to make it appear to be the shore.
What I love most is that crossing a variegated with a solid makes a perfect result.
I chose to go with both. After testing one and then the other, I thought to myself that this would look lovely if I tried both. I decided that I loved it.
"Begin to weave and God will give the thread."
This little card was a gift from a friend, Pia, which belonged to her mother, Elona, who was also a friend. Pia thought of me after Elona passed away and gave the little card to me as a token. I cherish it and all of my weaving projects after just a few picks have since had their picture taken with this precious little conglomeration of words.
